Good features, minor hiccup

I used CoinLedger this tax season to handle my crypto taxes, specifically the IRS Form 8949 Generator. The software did a pretty good job consolidating all my trades from different exchanges, and the TurboTax Integration was a lifesaver, making the final filing much smoother. It really saved me a lot of time compared to doing it manually. My main critique is that I had a bit of trouble with one of my smaller exchange API integrations; it took a few tries to get it to sync correctly, which was a little frustrating. Customer service was responsive, but it still added an hour or so to the process. Overall, it's a solid tool and a good value for what it offers, especially for more complex portfolios.

Decent value for first-timer

As a first-time crypto tax filer, I was looking for the best deal. I ended up getting CoinLedger's Crypto Tax Software during a tax season sale, which helped a lot. The cost basis tracking and exchange API integrations worked well for my main accounts. It generated the IRS Form 8949 and was easy to understand. I felt like I got good value for what I paid, especially considering how much time it saved me trying to figure it all out myself. Glad I didn't pay full price, but even then, it felt worth it for the peace of mind.

Reliable for my crypto taxes

I've been using CoinLedger for a few years now, and this tax season was just as smooth as the previous ones. I always rely on their Crypto Tax Software and the Portfolio Tracker to keep tabs on everything. The consistency is what keeps me coming back; I know what to expect. My data synced up perfectly with all my exchanges and wallets, and generating the Capital Gains Calculator report was straightforward. It's reassuring to have a service that reliably handles all the complicated DeFi Tax Software parts without a hitch. Definitely worth it for repeat users who just want things to work.

Between CoinLedger and TaxBit, which one do you guys think is better for someone with a mix of NFTs and regular crypto? I've heard good things about both.

A Alex R. 1 month ago
I've used both. CoinLedger felt a bit more user-friendly for NFTs, especially if you have a lot of mints and sales. TaxBit was okay, but I prefer CL.

Honestly, it depends on your specific transactions. CoinLedger has been solid for my NFT stuff, but for just basic crypto, they're both pretty similar. Maybe try the free tiers to see which UI you like better.

Hey guys, thinking of trying CoinLedger this year for my crypto taxes. How easy is it to actually get your data into it? I've got stuff on like 5 different exchanges.

N Nina 2 months ago
Pretty straightforward. Most major exchanges have direct API integrations, so you just connect them up. Took me like 10 mins for Coinbase and Kraken.

Yeah, but for some of the smaller ones or older transactions, you might need to use CSVs. It's not too bad, just make sure your files are formatted right, otherwise it's a headache.

Does anyone know if CoinLedger has a free version for people with super low transaction volume? Like, if I just bought a couple NFTs and nothing else.

C Cody Foster 1 month ago
I think they have a free report for really low transaction counts, but it's usually just a few hundred. Might cover you if you only have a handful of things.

Yeah, they usually offer a free report for like up to 25 or 50 transactions. Check their pricing page, it's usually listed there.

Anyone know if CoinLedger usually has a Black Friday sale? Thinking of waiting to buy my tax report.

C Colin Patel 2 months ago
Yeah, they usually do! I got a good discount last year around that time. Worth waiting if you're not in a rush.

They almost always have something for Black Friday/Cyber Monday. It's one of their bigger sales, so you'll probably see a 10-20% off code or something similar.

What's the deal with promo codes? Can I stack a referral code with a Black Friday deal or something?

S Sam 2 months ago
Nah, they usually only let you use one code per purchase. Tried it last year, didn't work.

D Dana Lindqvist 2 months ago
Correct, only one code. You gotta pick the best one. I usually just use a referral from a friend or an influencer if I can find one with a decent percentage.
